Vision Therapy

Not all vision problems can be solved with corrective devices, such as glasses or contact lenses. In some cases, using specialized exercises and devices can help the eyes develop to overcome certain issues. This process is called vision therapy, and it is done both in our office and at home, with either one of our doctors or a trained vision therapist.

Examples of eye related issues that can benefit from vision therapy include:

  • Eye tracking and focusing issues, which often lead to difficulty with reading and comprehension.
  • Certain eye turns or forms of amblyopia

The first step is a comprehensive eye health check with one of our optometrists. There you can discuss whether vision therapy is an option for your child, what the costs are (including what portion insurance may cover), and what a typical plan for success would look like.
